In the past there have been brand new HK416 complete uppers sold, so they are out there, but the prices have really gone up over the last few years. They are getting harder and harder to come by that are all original, not pieced together. Only issue is there are numerous burrs/sharp corners around the hand guard. , Well the 11” barrel is a revision of the 416D which added the extra 6” (giggity) to increase dwell time and that was released as the 416A5 both with an updated upper receiver and fully ambi lower capable of accepting any and all mags including gen 2 pmags (which the 416 didn’t as it pre-dated them)., The HK416 carrier does NOT have this cut. Locking down pins hold the upper to the lower on the MR556A1. The HK416 using the standard AR-platform takedown pins. The HK416 uses a metal ejection port cover while the MR556A1 using a plastic one. Unlike the HK416, the MR556A1 uses some American made parts and is assembled in the US. Hope this helps!
